How To Remove Ink Stain From A Leather Bag | The Leather Laundry

Wondering how to remove ink stain from a leather bag?

Remember, prevention is always better than cure! Open pen covers are a sworn enemy to your exotic leathers and inner fabrics! Always keep your pen caps on!

In case of a fresh spill, blot out the excess ink immediately with a highly absorbent tissue paper! If some stain still remains and it is a black or a brown leather bag – then touch up the stained area with matching colour dye or polish!

If you do not have dye or colour to touch up the remaining stain, you can also use a little bit if rubbing alcohol with a cotton swob on the affected area! But ensure that you do a patch test first! Excessive and hard rubbing with IPA can cause the leather to fade in colour!

If the bag is made of suede or nubuck leather, then it has to be sent to a professional dry cleaner for complete treatment and colour restoration!
